The City of Gem Mines
Situated in Mandalay division and is about 50 miles from Mandalay on the mountain range at 3800ft above sea level. The great news is that this city has lifted up its
restrictions for foreign tourist making Mogok the top destination of 2019 for everyone. Mogok is surrounded by chains of high mountains, as in the middle of the jar.
Geological age is estimated at over 500 million years. Mountains and abyss, forest, streams and gurgling brooks are the topographical features of the Mogok region forming
a scene of natural splendour. At the time of Bagan era about 1207 AD, the city was part of the fiefdom of Momeik Shan Chieftain. The mines such as world famous Rubies,
Sapphires, Garnets, Spaniel, Topaz, Emerald are all vested in the area around Mogok.
The Mogok mines have yielded many gems, with countless value of single piece of gems. During the past and is still yielding up to the present.

Day 01: Mandalay – Mogok
After arrival at Mandalay Airport or pick up at hotel in Mandalay at 9:00am and transfer to Mogok for 6/7 hrs drive. Mogok is 125 miles from Mandalay City.
First driving part is passing through flat and plain. The region being the home of national races – Shan, Palaung and Lisu. The travelers can see their villages
along the route and study their traditional customs and daily work. Lunch at Let-Pen-Hla, 50 miles away from Mandalay and tea at Shwe-Nyaung-Bin by own arrangement.
Sightseeing at Inn Kyaung and Kyat Pyin on the road. Checking in at the Mogok Hill and overnight at Mogok.
Day 02 : Mogok Sightseeing
After Breakfast , first visit to AungChanThar market with ethnic hill tribes in and around Mogok.
More visit to mines, near around at Mogok. After that at the Gem mines and studying at the Gem Markets (HtarPwe), gem cutting and polishing are included.
Day 03 : Mogok Sightseeing
After Breakfast, visit to Gold Smith, Gem Souvenir shops and Local Markets (Patamya Market and Nilar Market).
Proceed to ChanTharGyi Pagoda and enjoy sunset and the last view of Mogok from the Patamya (Ruby) Pagoda.
After all, come back to Hotel and overnight at Mogok.
Day 04: Mogok – Mandalay
After the Breakfast , drive to Panchan Gem Market which is the biggest Gem Market in Mogok. Lunch at Lat Pan Village. Afterwards, drive back to Mandalay.
