ON REMOTE NORTHERN PART

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING IN KACHIN STATE
Annapurna ( 26300ft ) is the highest mountain in the World and the second is Mt Everest ( 24500ft high ). Khakaborazi is the highest in Myanmar on the remote Northern tips of Naungmon Township in Putao region. bordering with China in Kachin State. It's about 19315 ft, 5882 meters high.
EXPEDITION TO MT KHAKABORAZI
The first attempt to this virgin Peak was made by Colonel Saw Myint, of Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering federation, in 19 56 and reached to the height of 12000 ft.
The second successful attempt was made by the Japanese mountain climber Mr Ozaki and Mr Numar in 1996. and his expedition was recorded as follows;
The journey started from Yangon on 18th July, 1996 by flight to Putao.
After preparing the team for few days in Putao, the expedition started this adventure from Putao on 25th July and reached the height of 13025 ft on 21st August, and on 24th August, they reached at the height of 14190 ft. On 25th August, they continue climbing up the ice-clad mountain and reached up to 15180 ft. They crossed and walked along the Ice river on 26th, 27th and 28th August, and trekked up to the height of 16500 ft on the 29th August. After reaching the height of 17820 ft on 13th September, they stopped on the way for bad weather for two days.( Total 50 Days )
On the final day of 15th September, Mr Ozaki start climbing again at 7:15 AM in the morning. Finally he reached to the peak at 19315 ft on the same day. After staying few hrs on the top of this virgin peak, Mr. Ozaki returned back to Putao.
This is the first successful climbing of Mt Khakaborazi in Myanmar. In later years, many attempts had been made by many of the climbers, no one has been succeeded since his successful attempt.
EXPEDITION TO PHUNGAUNG ICE-CLAD MOUNTAIN
The first expedition team from Myanmar Hiking and Mountaineering Federation reached to this 3000 meters Ice-Clad Phaungaung Mountain in the early 1970s. Later years, many amateur teams such as bird watchers, butterfly watchers, researcher teams, and video teams and many Tourist have been experiencing to this mountain.
DAY 01: ARRIVAL YANGON
Arrival at the Yangon airport and transfer to Hotel. Dinner and O/N in Yangon.
DAY 02: YANGON - PUTAO
Early transfer to airport for flight to Putao via Myitkyina. O/N in Putao.
DAY 03: DAY OF PREPARATION
Day of preparation for expedition to Phaungaung Ice-clad mountain.
DAY 04: SHANGUNG TRIBAL RAWANG VILLAGE
After breakfast leave for upper Shangung Tribal Rawang village about 200 houses, on foot. 16 Kilometres from Putao, smells the fragrance of mountain flowers on the way. O/N in Rawang village.
DAY 05: WASADAN VILLAGE
Trekking to Wasadan village on Nan Mu stream, about 13 kilos climbing up the Kyauksein Taung by climbing up along the bridle path about 2000 metres high, after crossing the mountain about 1500 metres, arrive to Rawang village with 11 huts in the afternoon. O/N in Wasadan
village.
DAY 06: ZIYADAN VILLAGE
Trekking to Ziyadan village about 12 kilos, the last human habitation in the Northwestern direction of Myanmar. First to Awadan 1 about 7 kilos and next is to Awardan 2 about I kilo. Arrive Ziyadan in the afternoon. O/N in
Ziyadan.
DAY 07: THITPINGYI CAMP
Trek about half-an-hr to Phangaung stream, and walk along the stream to stream and get to ChaungSone camp, then to Thitpingyi camp about 1900 metres above sea level. O/N in Thitpingyi camp.
DAY 08: SNOW LINE CAMP
Leave Thitpingyi camp, to trek up the Mountain and reached to Khantaukmyit camp at 2600 metres above sea level. Continue to Snow line camp at 3000
Metres.
DAY 09: KHANTAUKMYIT CAMP
Sightseeing around Phaungan Snow capped mountain. O/N Khantaukmyit camp.
DAY 10: RETURN TO THITPINGYI CAMP.
DAY 11: RETURN TO ZIYADAN.
DAY 12: RETURN TO WASADAN.
DAY 13: RETURN TO RAWANG VILLAGE.
DAY 14: RETURN TO PUTAO.
DAY 15: PUTAO - MANDALAY
