Amara
river cruise made of traditional wood and was completely refurbished by local
craftsmen in 2003. It measures 30 meters / 100 feet in length by 8 meters / 24
feet in width. With a shallow draft of 1 meter / 3 feet and two Japan made 180hp
Hino engines, it can go as far north as Bhamo all year round. On board you find
a total of seven Cabins, six standard double cabins and one deluxe, each with
its own bathroom with hot and cold shower. Communal areas include dining room,
bar and canopied sundeck.
Electricity is provided 24 hours a day at 220 V. A 3500 liter water tank and a
sewage treatment unit make the boat self-sufficient and provide a high
ecological standard.
Freshly prepared local and European dishes and many kinds of tropical fruit
cocktails are prepared by our well-trained cook and served by our friendly staff
at regular mealtimes and upon special order.
All bed linen and towels as well as on-board laundry are included in our service
Cruising on the Ayarwady River
Cruising on the Ayarwady River is possible between Mandalay and Bagan and beyond
as far south as Pyay and as far as north as Bhamo all year round.
Cruising on the Chindwin River
Cruising on the Chindwin River is possible from its confluence with the Ayarwady
River near Bagan up to Khamti at the foot of the Naga Mountains, 500 miles to
the north.

Mandalay To Bagan
Itinerary:
Day 01: Mandalay Mingun Sagaing (Meals: L/D)
Check in on board at 10:00 a.m. Start your voyage to north of Mandalay along
Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun. Observe the world's largest ringing bell cast by
Bodawpaya in 1080 weighing 55555 viss which calculated equal to 90 tons and
Mingun Pahtodawgyi, an enormous pile of bricks is all that remain of King
Bodawpaya ambition to make it the world's largest Buddhist stupa. Other tour
highlights are Settawya Pagoda with a marble foot print of Buddha and Shin Byu
Me Pagoda built in 19 century by King Bagyidaw, Bodawpaya's grandson in memory
of one of his wives. After sightseeing, set sail and cruise to Sagaing. Lunch on
board. Afternoon visit Sagaing, covered with 600 white-painted pagodas and
monasteries, Sagaing hill is widely regarded as the religious centre of Myanmar
and is home of 6000 monks and nun, 100 meditation centers. Return to Amara.
Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 02: Sagaing Ava Semikhong (Meals: B/L/D)
After sunrise, take cruising to forgotten capital of Ava, having 400 years the
longest serve capital of Konebaung Dynasty located across Myit-Nge River. Upon
arrival at the ancient capital of Ava, visits by pony cart. Sightseeing
highlights with unique monasteries and monuments include a look at 88 foot high
Nan Myint Watch Tower known as the "leaning tower of Ava", Maha Aungmye Bonzan
Monastery, built of brick and stucco, donated by chief queen Mae Nu, Bargaya
teak monastery built in 1834 which is famous for its teak pillars amounting to
267 in total and the remains of the royal palace and fort. Return to boat and
proceed downstream. On the way, visit Semikhong Village with its old wooden
monasteries and colorful market. Moor at a sand bank. Dinner and overnight on
board.
Day 03: Semikhong Mt. Tangyi (Meals: B/L/D)
In the early morning, set sail and cruising near to Bagan. Lunch on board. Stop
at the river bank of Mt. Tangyi. In the afternoon, climbing Mt. Tangyi on foot
and then by car. Enjoy the evening panoramic view of Bagan from the hill top
pagoda. Dinner at a sandbank. Overnight on board.
Day 04: : Mt. Tangyi Bagan (Meals: B)
In the early morning, set sail and arrive to Bagan. Disembark at 08:00 a.m.

Bagan To Mandalay(01 October

Itinerary:
Day 01: Bagan Mt. Tangyi (Meals: D)
Check in on board at 3:00 p.m. Start cruising to the shore of Mt. Tangyi.
Climbing Mt. Tangyi. In the afternoon, climbing Mt. Tangyi on foot and then by
car. Enjoy the evening panoramic view of Bagan from the hill top pagoda. Dinner
at a sandbank. Overnight on board.
Day 02: Mt. Tangyi Yandabo (Meals: B/L/D)
Set sail at 6:00 am for Mandalay and in the afternoon arrive to Yandabo, a small
rural village that is well known for a treaty signed here between the British
and Burmese in 1826. Now the village is famous for its handmade terracotta pots
produced in traditional ways. Dinner at a sandbank. Overnight on board.
Day 03: Yandabo Semikhong Ava Sagaing (Meals: B/L/D)
Sail up north to Semikhong Village, visit with its old wooden monasteries and
colorful market. Continue your voyage along Ayeyarwaddy River until Ava in the

Day 02: Sheinmaga Thabeikkyin (Meals: B/L/D)
Leave Sheinmaga at 06:00 a.m. and sail this day till Thabeikkyin. Visit to Nwe
Nyein (Pottery Village). You will pass the Third Defile. The river banks get
hilly and from now on covered with Teak forest. Passing by small villages along
the river and one can see the life from the trade of wood and fishing. Overnight
on board.
Day 03: Thabeikkyin Tagaung (Meals: B/L/D)
Set sail at 06:00 a.m. Continue upstream until Tagaung, one of the oldest
capitals of Myanmar. Excursions in Tagaung. Overnight and dinner on board at
just north of Tagaung.
Day 04: : Tagaung Katha (Meals: B/L/D)
Set sail at 06:00 a.m. This day you will reach till Katha, a beautiful town with
a colorful market, friendly people and a unique atmosphere. Katha is known from
the book Burmese Days, written by George Orwell. Dinner and overnight on
board, moored near the harbor of Katha.
Day 05: : Katha Shwegu (Meals: B/L/D)
Depart from Katha at 06:00 a.m. and sail this day till Shwegu. This day is a
good chance to see the famous Ayeyarwaddy Dolphin, quite common in this area.
Amara will stop at the opposite river bank of Shwegu near the pagodas of Shwe
Baw Kyunn Thousands of pagodas can be found at this place, probably built around
the 10th century. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 06: : Shwegu Bhamo (Meals: B/L)
Set sail at 08:00 a.m. You will pass the Second Defile this day. At this place
the river banks become a steep cliff with beautiful scenery and amazing. In the
afternoon the Amara will arrive in Bhamo, the most northern place the Amara can
reach. Lunch on board. Disembark at about 15:30 p.m.

Bhamo To Mandalay
Itinerary:
Day 01: Bhamo (Meals: D)
Check in on board at the Amara River Cruise in the afternoon. Dinner and
overnight on board.
Day 02: Bhamo Shwegu (Meals: B/L/D)
Set sail at 8:00 am. On the way, you will pass the beautiful Second Defile. The
river banks become a steep cliff and the river bottom drops away to extreme
depths. The river scene is amazing and offers beautiful scenery. In the
afternoon, arrive in Shwegu and visit the pagodas of Shwe Baw Kyunn on the
opposite river bank of Shwegu, where the Amara will stop for overnight. Dinner
and overnight on board.
Day 03: Shwegu Katha (Meals: B/L/D)
Depart from Shwegu at 08:00 a.m. The scenery along the river is beautiful with
small villages and dense tropical forest. This day is a good chance to see the
famous Ayeyarwaddy Dolphin, quite common in this area. In the afternoon, you
will reach Katha, a beautiful town with an interesting market, friendly people,
and a unique atmosphere. Katha is known from the book Burmese Days written by
George Orwell. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 04: Katha Tagaung (Meals: B/L/D)
Set sail at 8:00 a.m. and continues downstream until Tagaung, one of the oldest
capitals of Myanmar. Proceed for sightseeing at Tagaung. Overnight and dinner on
board just south of Tagaung.
Day 05: Tagaung - Kyaukmyaung (Meals: B/L/D)
Start sailing at 8:00 a.m. until Thabeikkyin. You will pass the Third Defile.
This area is covered with dense teak forest. Dinner and overnight on board near
Kyaukmyaung.
Day 06: Kyaukmyaung Mandalay (Meals: B / L)
Set sail at 8:00 am down stream to Nwe Nyein (potery village). After
sightseeing, sailing down stream to Mingun. Observe the world's largest ringing
bell cast by Bodawpaya in 1080 weighing 55555 viss which calculated equal to 90
tons and Mingun Pahtodawgyi, an enormous pile of bricks is all that remain of
King Bodawpaya ambition to make it the world's largest Buddhist stupa. Other
tour highlights are Settawya Pagoda with a marble foot print of Buddha and Shin
Byu Me Pagoda built in 19 century by King Bagyidaw, Bodawpaya's grandson in
memory of one of his wives. After visit of Mingun, proceeds sail up to Mandalay.
Lunch on board. Disembark in the afternoon, after arrival at Mandalay Jetty.

Important Notice
For all season departure should the occupancy be less than 6 passengers the
company reserves the rights to cancel the cruise up to 60 days prior the
departure date. A confirmation notice in writing will be released by the company
to all booked clients within and not later 60 days before the departure date. In
case of cancellation all down payments will be immediately refunded.

| Refunds |
All refund request must be
in writing, and made direct to us or through the agent from whom the travel
arrangements were purchased. Claims must be made within 15 days of
completion of travel arrangements. Refunds will not be made for booking
cancelled due to inclement weather of illness, these must be claimed through
your travel insurance. |
